In early 2005 the site was developed to allow people who were upset with Joe Lieberman's selling out of our common Democratic princples the opportunity to pledge money for any candidate to run against him in a primary for the Jr. Seantor seat in CT.
During the pledge raising portion of the sites lifetime the site raised over $56,000 in pledges from over 480 people.
Initially the site was contacted by Ormand when he was entertaining an interest in running, but the site did not turn the pledge database over to the potential candidate (raising the wrath of a few people in CT).
In March of 2006 the site did turn over the pledge database to the Lamont campaign when he formally announced and started his campaign for the ballot in the primary.
In June 2006 the site was redesigned to be a clearinghouse of information on Joe Lieberman, so that people that were interested in Joe's positions and the CT race in general would be able to get information from someplace on-line.
While the site is not a Lamont web site, we have made it clear that we support Lamont and his run to be on the ballot as the Democratic candidate for the CT Jr. Senator. We, of course, hope that if you are in CT you provide support for Lamont, and if you are outside CT that you consider donating to the Lamont Campaign.
